"Vela illa pattathari" is one of the south indian film. The story is written & directed by velraj. Basically he is a cameraman but as a director this is the first film for velraj. Actor Dhanush is the producer and hero of this film. Actress Amala pal is the heroine, she acted as a doctor. samudhrakani & saranya ponvannan were the co-actors.They acted as Dhanush parents. This is 25th film of Dhanush. Anirudh ravichandran composed the music. Music was released on february 14th 2014.

Raguvaran(Dhanush) is a civil engineering student and he is looking an opportunity in his same field(Civil engineering). But he didn't get job. he's moving his life as VIP(Vela Illa Pattathari). But his brother is an IT student and he's having a good job in IT field. Shalini(Amala Paul) is neighborhood. she is working as a doctor. she falls in love with raguvaran. This is the first half of the film.

In the second half, Dhanush got a job in the same field as he expected. But villain giving him lots of troubles in his field. The rest of the film is about how dhanush handles his troubles and win over his competitor.
